Earlier, the program began with the release of Anitha Krishna’s debut devotional album, Samarpanam. The first album was handed over to T.V. Krishna, the President of CMANA, an association that organizes classical music concerts of professionals from India. Stage Ramani received the second copy followed by Anandhi Venkat, the dynamic President of the New Jersey Tamil Sangam.
...... As part of the release, Anitha rendered a song from the album. Anitha, who has her moorings in Carnatic music is equally adept at light music and has been entertaining music lovers with light music concerts all over the United States.
New York Raja’s entrancing music, Kavi Varman’s profound lyrics and Anitha’s rich voice have made every song a treat to the ears. Kudos to the talented trio on an album well made. With her classical background standing her in good stead, Anitha is bound to make her voice heard in the echelons of the musical world.
The album has twelve enchanting melodies on twelve different Hindu deities, composed in light classical style, in twelve different ragas. The first song on Ganesha is a brisk rendition in Hamsadwani followed by an enthralling melody in Reethigowla. In this composition on Goddess Saraswathi, the strains of the veena ring in one’s ears for a long time after you hear it. The blend of Sama in the charanam of the composition on Tirupathi Balaji set in Asaveri is a captivating touch.
